IPCC not recording a-law calls

Unanswered Question

Hi,

we are running a script, which records the caller and sends the recording to an email account. On internal calls, (Cisco IP Phone to UCCX) codecs on both sides are g711 ulaw.

When a call comes from outside, via SIP provider, the codec is g711 alaw, and g711 alaw is also sent from SBC towards Call Manager. The problem is, that recorded calls which come from the outside via SBC are empty when g711 alaw is used so i suspect that UCCX can only record u-law calls. Could that be true?

Best regards,

Marko

I have this problem too.

It may be due to:

- The agent's phone device is associated with an incorrect VoIP Monitor Server.

- The agent's phone device is not associated with a VoIP Monitor Server and an incorrect VoIP Monitor Server is selected as the default VoIP Monitor Server.

- Spanning is not set up correctly on the switch

Try to setup proper port mirroring.

That doesnt explain why recording with u-law codec works and doesnt work when using a-law. I'd like to know whether there is any restrictions about using a-law codec with UCCX?
