We use an external DNS is our current scenario. We defined the DNS entry as phone.sscgp.com. The external DNS server returns only the IP address of the Call manager server. On our windows based Callmanager we added an SSL key under the default web site. In the website we put a file called redirect.asp in the IIS root and made it the default document. This file has one line in it: <%response.redirect “https://phone.sscgp.com/ccmuser”>.

Can we accomplish the same thing in Call Manager 7.0 so that when the users type in phone.sscgp.com into their browser and the external DNS server returns the CallManager's IP address, the users utlitmately get redirected to https://phone.sscgp.com/ccmuser?

Also, how do we add a SSL key to the web site?

you can't, you do not have root access to modify anything under the tomcat folder where the web files are. root access is only provided to apply the WA for a bug or for TAC troubleshooting.

it would need to be done all in external servers, i'm not a web guru so i'm not sure if this is possible via external servers

Have phone.sscgp.com resolve in DNS to another web server and use the same setup. As for the SSL certificate, this is covered in the UC OS Admin Guide.
