Hello Naidu,

among the best software tools for traffic generation should be netperf and iperf.

http://www.netperf.org/netperf/NetperfPage.html

http://iperf.sourceforge.net/

I've used netperf some years ago between pairs of freeBSD workstations.

for the test you want to do you should use UDP flows to be free from flow control.

Hope to help

Giuseppe

Hi Giuseppe,

Thanks for your response.

So which tool is the best to use UDP flows?

Can we with iperf / netperf

Regards,

Naidu.

Hello Naidu,

I think they are similar for your objective.

The real problem is that you may need to deploy two linux boxes one on siteA and the other on siteB to perform the tests.

Hope to help

Giuseppe
