Codecs between WAN sites and Bandwidth Utilization

hi guys,

what codec we should use for voice between two sites which are connected via 10Mbps of MPLS Link ???

what bandwidth does one voip call takes between two sites ???

how can we reserve specific bandwidth for voice and for data over WAN ???

You need to specify what system do you have, routers ccm or what else, also what wan route do you have.

- you can use G729 for lower bandwidth utilization

what bandwidth does one voip call takes between two sites ???

- if you use g729, it will be 24 k with headers

Another one is G711, may be used, it will have 80 k for one call

how can we reserve specific bandwidth for voice and for data over WAN ???

Simply you can use QOS

i have CCM Cluster on Head Quarter and CCM is integrated with GW via h.323 ... my WAN link is 10 Mbps of MPLS .....
