How to configure Router to Router serial connection?

I have two 2610 routers and they each have a WIC-1T card. I connect them through a CAB-6060 Back-to-Back DTE-DCE cable. "Show inter s0/0" shows the connection is up/up. However can't ping each end... I also tried to put "encapsulation ppp" but still no go... How should I configure it? Thanks!

did you configure a clock rate at the DCE side?

for example:

clock rate 64000

to check if the side is DTE/DCE:

show controllers serial ser0/0

you'll see in the text or DTE or DCE

Hi, also check if "ip routing" command is enabled in both routers.
