non-root bridge 1242AG with root 340 bridge series

I have a configuration with a root bridge 340 series and about 5 non-root bridge 340 series. I want to add a 1242 non root bridge, but the new device can't see the others, and neither the others can see the 1242.

Is there an issue in connecting these two devices in this configuration?

Yes. Bridging to 340's is not supported in any current hardware model. Unfortunately, you'll have to replace all your old 340s in order to make any changes to that solution.

Hi, first, thanks for the help.

Second, this incompatibility is only valid

for RFC1042 or it is valid for 802.11g?

Third, If I configure my 1242 as Acess Point, and the 340 series as Client or Brigde_only, they should not talk too?

Sorry for the bad english...

The 340s are way old and is very unlikly to be supported with anything new today. Also keep in mind when doing bridges its best to keep the same bridge on either end or make sure they are support if they are different.
