HP3020 Swich won't Join VTP domain using dotq trunk. I am trying to connect a Blade system to the 6509 and using 4port ether channnel using LACP protocol. Redundant system so tried connecting the one switch and it works fine using the same configuration except it connects to a diffrent 6509. The ether channel came up with trunking but the switch wont join VTP to get the vlan info.

- check vtp is not transparant
- check vtp password if used
- check vtp domain name is the same on both sides of the trunk

- Check if native VLAN is the same on both sides of the trunk
- Shut/no shut portchannel if any of these parameters (vtp mode, vtp password) have changed from the default.

HI
VTP is a Cisco proprietary protocol so an HP switch can't join a VTP domain.
