Hi ,
g0/0 of 3845 router is connected to g3/47 of 3550 switch.
3845 config :
Int g0/0
speed 100
duplex full
int g0/0.11
encapsulation dot1q 11 native
ip address 10.10.10.2 255.255.255.0
standby 11 ip 10.10.10.1
int g0/0.12
encapsulation dot1q 12
ip address 20.20.20.2 255.255.255.0
standby 11 ip 20.20.20.1
4506 switch :
int g3/47
switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q
switchport mode trunk
switchport trunk native vlan 11
switchport trunk allowed vlan 11,12
int vlan 11
ip address 10.10.10.4 255.255.255.0
As soon as I connect Gig0/0 of 3845 router to Gig3/47 of 4506 switch, gig ports of both the deives are down and are not coming up.What could be the reason..
Thanks,
Satish

IS the module you are trying to connect to actually up , do a show mod and make sure it passed diags and looks ok.

Hi Satish,
1. Try a different copper cable;
2. A stupid question: On the 4500, VLAN 11 is "no shut"?
3. Anything in the logs of both appliance to explain why the ports are down?
