CUCM 6.0 Backup

Dear Team,

I have this weird problem.

I have a callmanager cluster made up of two servers. I'm running CUCM 6.0

In the disaster recovery, I can do a manual backup fine on both server, but when scheduling an automatic backup.

It passes the publisher no problem, but two components of the subscriber fail and their tar files are not added to the backup target device. These components are "MOH" and "TFTP"

Both manual and automatic are being send to the same target server.

Could it be a bug or what else could be doing this error?

Any ideas?

Thanks and best regards,

Ahmed El-Eraky

Never seen this myself - it would be worth posting the contents of the logs shown as hyperlinks in you screen capture.

As a guess it might be that the contents of the TFTP and MOH directories on the servers are different and they should be the same. Have you got the same MOH files on both servers? - if not then upload the missing ones to the Subscriber and run the backup again. If this fixes the problem do some thing similar for TFTP.

Hi Jamesha,

Thanks alot for your response.

I understand what you're saying and I thought about that.

But if this is the case, how would the Manual Backup work then??

I will recheck the contents of both MOH and TFTP and get back to you.

But how can the contents effect this procedure in the automatice backup ONLY?

Kindly find below the log files for the MOH and TFTP:

Few questions

-which sftp server are you using ?

-Have you tried scheduling it a diffrent time(it shud not matter though just ...running out of ideas)?

-do you any other activity in the network path during automated backup time

-what is port configuration on the switchport

Hi,

I'm using FreeFTPd. It usually works great but not sure why it didn't this time.

Actually, I did try schedualing it on different days, no change really. Although one time, the TFTP component did succeed, and the MOH component failed.

Right now, both components fail.

I schedule the upgrade during off-working hours, which usually is a little after midnight to avoid any trouble with the business.

Actually, this problem doesn't make any sense. I've tried almost everything.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Ahmed

Have you tried rebooting the subscriber? I have had problems before with BARs / Backup and Recovery and everytime a reboot of the server has worked.

Also, you say you are on 6.0. I would look at upgrading to at least 6.1.2SU1a as 6.0 was riddled with nasty little bugs.
