Replacing an AW

Unanswered Question
Apr 30th, 2009

I need to replace my primary distributor with a new server. Currently my plan is to shut down the current AW and bring up the new one with the same name, IP address, etc... and install the ICM software.

Has anyone done this? Will it work or is there a better way?

ICM 7.0 SR3

Is it just an AW and not an HDS? If it's just an AW, then your process is good.

Are you only running a single Dist?

Doing what you suggest above will work, but you will have a blank HDS, no historic data.

Let us know more about your config and servers.

The server I am replacing is not an HDS, just my primary distributor. I also have an AW/HDS.

Sounds like I'm on the right track.

Thanks guys.

No problem. Just make sure the SITE name is what you used before - and what is configured in Agent Distribution on the PG.

Install the software. I would keep the service "manual" and install the same SR as production before letting it start up and letting updateaw pull down the config.
