Hey Pros,
Can someone explain me the difference between the 2 dial-peer below?
dial-peer voice 90005 voip
description -- send to OpenSER
preference 1
destination-pattern 403203187[0-4]$
progress_ind setup enable 3
voice-class codec 1
session protocol sipv2
session target sip-server
dtmf-relay rtp-nte
playout-delay nominal 250
playout-delay mode fixed
ip qos dscp cs5 media
no vad
!
dial-peer voice 90006 voip
description -- send to OpenSER
preference 2
destination-pattern 403203187[0-4]$
progress_ind setup enable 3
voice-class codec 1
session protocol sipv2
session target sip-server
dtmf-relay rtp-nte
playout-delay nominal 250
playout-delay mode fixed
ip qos dscp cs5 media
no vad
!
One my mind one dial-peer is eable to do the job. Why the second with a lower preference number?
In case he wants to send more then one calls, does the ,MAX-CONN command will resolve the issue?
Thanks,
Crazy

Hi Eddy,
You can delete the second dial peer and simply add 'huntstop' to the first dial peer.
My dial peer for pots/voip only contains max-conn. It sounds like they're the same thing.

Hi Crazy,
These are redundant dial peers, and this isn't necessary.
It's possible that the person who configured this was under the belief that only one call could use a dial peer at a time, but that's not true.
The only reason to have dial peers with preference values is if you're sending it to a different place or with different parameters.
You can safely remove either one of these without changing functionality.

The second dial-peer, I send it to a non-existent gw,basically I drop the call. I try this to avaoid the pris to send all the number of the dial at the same and use all the all the channel of the PRI at the same time. Is there a way around this.
Second what the real different between MAX-CONN and MAX-CONNECTION?
Thanks Nick.Really appreciate your help.
