Question on running g722 on IP phones and voicemail in g711?

Wanted to run phones intra region using g722 and inter region running g729 and voicemail is set to g711.

My question is when phones 1 call phone 2 locally using g722 and is being diverted to vocicemail, is there any transcoding taking place between g722 to g711 in Unity?

I believe that if you set the region to G722 that G711 calls can still happen. In the negotiation Unity will say it will do G729 and G711, and the phones will say they can do the whole list - G722, ilbc, 729, and 711. Then they choose the highest priority codec available that has a bitrate lower than the region settings, which would be G711 here.
