Software Upgrades.

I'm looking for an official Cisco response to this one.

I have a few hundred devices that need to have software upgrades performed to allow us to SSH to/from the devices. This includes: routers, switches, access points, etc.

All devices are covered by SmartNet. I do not know the details of the contracts though.

What type of upgrades are covered?

I understand maintenance releases are covered (so like 12.4(9)T to 12.4(9)T1).

What about high encryption?

IP base w/o crypto to IP Base

What about feature upgrades?

SMI to EMI?

What are minor and major software upgrades?

Minor: 12.4(9)T to 12.4(15)T ?????

Major: 12.3(11) to 12.4(7)G ?????

Does Cisco have a doc out there for this?

If you want to upgrade the IOS from one version to another AND it's the same feature, it should be fine.

However, if you want to move from, say IP Services to Enterprise, then you need to purchase the license from your authorized Cisco reseller.
