Hi,
I would like to make a communication between two VRFs using BGP.
I am using a Cisco 3825 with the IOS below :
C3825-IPSERVICESK9-M Version 12.4(11) XW7
You'll find my configuration in the attached text file with some show commands.
With this configuration the redistribution is working fine in one way from the EXP1 to EXP3 but not the EXP3 to EXP1.
I remember having done in the past a similar configuration on Cisco 3750 and it was working in the both way.
Do you think I have to upgrade the IOS with the latest version?
Best regards.
Nicolas

You could be hitting a bug on that IOS version. I recommend downloading a mainline code unless you need a feature that is only available on that track.

The config looks good. Can you try clearing BGP (clear ip bgp *)? Or reloading the router?

Hi,
Thanks for your reply. Actually it works fine after reloading the router.
I got the importation and exportation in the both way but when I tried just before reloading the router the command clear ip bgp * nothing happened.
It was only working in one way from EXP1 to EXP3.
I have got the same problem with another Cisco 3825.
Why I have to reload the routers to solve my problem?
Best Regards.

Hi,
Thanks you again for your quick reply. I will follow your advise and download a new IOS version.
I will upgrade the router Cisco 3825 with the latest release which is 12.4.24T(ED).
I let you know if I am facing again this bug.
Best regards.

After upgrading the IOS, it seems to be OK.
The BGP importation and exportation works fine.

Nicolas
