Hi,

My question is I would like to know what factors that I need to consider for me to choose between a

3800 router and a 7200 router ?

My requirements is that I have a 40MB link to the provider and the router needs to support it.

Thank you,

Regards,

InternetB.

Either should be fine. Often a budget issue as the 7200 is to prefer.

Main factors to consider would be IOS features required, interfaces supported and performance for expected traffic load. Also, there's cost.

You only note the need to support a 40 Mbps link. Both the 3800 series and 7200 series could do so, but there may be other options. The high end of the 2800 series might work, also various L3 switches (if Ethernet) too.
