Translation pattern

We have our internal Directory Numbers in Local and Remote site. Lets say if some of our IPT users instead of dialling the extn they dial the full DID(as PSTN call) and is there any way to define translation pattern that CCM can recognize this number is an internal number and no need to route the call thru PSTN.

Hi,

You can match those numbers using route patterns and specify which gateway you would like those calls to using your route lists.

The best way is to create translation patterns for each PSTN number or if you are lucky a range to identify the number and translate it to the internal one.

Site A, 1xxx PSTN 0121 5551234

Site B 2xxx PSTN 0131 666 2222

It depends on your configuration but

1. Create a CSS called "PSTN RE-ROUTE TO INTERNAL"

2. Assign the internal Partition to this CSS

3. Assign this CSS to the translation pattern

If you use different partitions per site then you need to create a CSS per PSTN site "PSTN RE-ROUTE TO INTERNAL SITE A, "PSTN RE-ROUTE TO INTERNAL SITE B and assign to each CSS their own Partition

4. Create a translation pattern of

90121555.1XXX

90131666.2XXX

5. Use the pre-dot to leave only the 4 digit internal number or what every the internal number is to match the internal number- If you need to add a site code then also add it in the translation pre-dot, add xxxxx

hope it helps
