Hi All,

I'm having issues with all my internet bandwidth getting congested by wired and wireless users.

On a 857w how can I control this ?

There is no easy and immediate way.

What you ideally want, is to share fairly bandwidth across all users.

This can be done effectively only on the upstream routers, although there are non-cisco products that promise to achieve the same with an appliance.

You can shape traffic going to each individual address to a desired maximum, but doing this, you prevent the PC from enjoying the best performance in absence of congestion.

Or, you could try shaping the interface to the downstream speed and apply fair-queuing via PCQ. Although I've never seen anyone doing this or reporting on its effectiveness.

Unfortunately the 857 doesn't support most of QoS features so I'm afraid you're OOL anyway.
