blade firmware...

Hi All,

while upgrading the firmware on MDS9509 to 3.2, one of the blade (DS-X9016) failed to update the firmware. No error was reported.

Later after looking at the logs, I found the reason was it is a Gen1 blade.

Can I upgrade the fimware on a single blade in a MDS9509..?

Rgds,

KiKu

If you reload / re-insert the blade, it will usually automatically check and optionally (re)place the module firmware version.

Alternatively, use privileged admin command:

<< reload module x force-dnld >>

where 'x' is the involved module.

I presume, the module was operational and its configuration (merely it's port-settings etc.) were retained in running or start-up config, else you might need to do a reconfig.

Note: a reload will likely disrupts involved traffic.

If the module gives issues, check things out via the

<< show module x recovery-steps >> command to see what it brings.

CU

Peter.
