port fast

I have a spaning tree configured on 4 switches that end user are connected to. I have spaning tree enabled, end user are complening of delay of audio coming to the wrk-station , I would like to see if the interfaces are configured for port fast when I do "sho ip int brief" .. there is no indication that in there that will suggest that port is fastport

You can do:

sh spanning-tree | inc P2p Edge

The results that you get back are the ones that have "spanning-tree portfast" configured on their interfaces.

I put in the command and the result is noting

sw#sh spanning-tree | i P2p edge

sw#

Oh, and "edge" has a capital "E"

try again with:

sh spanning-tree | i P2p Edge

You may still not have anything though.

Hi:

Depending on the switch you are using, you should be able to see the portfast configuration under each switch port when you do a "sh run".

For example:

interface FastEthernet1/0/25

description VLAN_54_sw_port

switchport

switchport access vlan 54

switchport mode access

no ip address

no mdix auto

spanning-tree portfast

And as Victor said, you can manually look through all of the interfaces. You may not have it enabled at all on any of the interfaces.

I'm going to "assume" that you don't have spanning-tree disabled on any of these ports. Now back to your original problem of "delay in audio", I highly doubt that would be a problem with spanning-tree to begin with. What are they using for audio? Are these phones, video conferencing devices, soft phones? I could be an issue with QoS.

a call comes to DMX 100 as x25 traffic then it get carry on to voice front node and then get converted to tcp and then gets connected to CISCO as 5350 voice getway the is connected to a LAN switches that all wrkstation are connected too. Hope this helps

Try looking at the output of

"sh run interface fa0/2"

and see if has "spanning-tree portfast" in the config.

Well, there goes my assumption :)

Is this the only port that you are concerned with? If you need to see all, just look through "show run."
