Assigning a 2nd subnet range

Hello

One of our customers has requested a second IP subnet range and I was wondering what the best practice is with regard to advertising this to them.

They currently have a /27 range and now I want to give them a /29.

Does this mean we must use secondary addresses on our connection?

Should I simply point this new range to their interface which is configured on one of the origional ranges?

If someone out there has done this before - could you please please forward me the method used to do this.

Hi,

Just add a route for this new subnet pointing to their interface. You don't need to re-address the link IP addresses.

That's why IP and routing protocols have been developed, you don't need to be directly connected to all your destination !! ;-)
