Hi alistair,

The IP Phone with PC is meant to be a one to one relationship. Here is some additional Cisco documentation that reflects the fact that Daisy Chaining IP Phones is not supported;

Daisy Chaining Cisco Unified IP Phones

Cisco does not support connecting an IP phone to another IP phone through the PC port. Each IP phone should directly connect to a switch port. If phones are connected together in a line (daisy chaining by using the PC port), the phones will not work.

Hope this helps!

Many Thanks for your help Rob

IP Phones could be daisy chain, but only the 1st phone which is connected to the wall will power from PoE. The 2nd phone require a external power supply. Also when you have a voice VLAN/Data VLAN setup, the 1st phone will get an IP address from the voice VLAN and the 2nd and rest of the daisy chain phones will get an IP from the Data VLAN.
