SXI DRAM and flash requirement

Dear friends,

We are in the process of upgrading a Cisco 6513 from SXD to the SXI image s72033-advipservicesk9_wan-mz.122-33.SXI1.bin.

We have 512 MB DRAM and 256 MB Flash.

But Cisco web site says that we need atleast 512 MB DRAM and 512 MB Flash.

The image size is just 96 MB. Will there be a problem in using this image still?

Is there any tool that tells us if the current modules in the 6500 are compatible with the new SXI image?

Thanks a lot

Gautam

Hello Gautam,

to verify hardware compatibility with an IOS image you can use SW advisor

http://tools.cisco.com/Support/Fusion/FusionHCHome.do?mySession=6686574&myStep=2

requires an account with more then guest privileges and note it takes long time to use it.

if the image is only 96 MB size it should fit in your current flash size, the reason for asking for more room may be related to have space to store a core dump or other reasons.

depending on the mix of linecards and service modules also SXH could fit your needs.

Hope to help

Giuseppe
