Is anyone using Citrix through the WAAS? How is this setup? Do you have to disable compression on your Citrix server and lower the encryption level to the lowest?

It is recommended to turn off acceleration at the server. however, if you are testing WAAS to only one site, then Citrix acceleration will be disabled for all sites.
Following link provides white papers for WAAS optimized applications including citrix:

Hi
I am getting a problem with Citrix server, the traffic is not getting optimised. Even when I check in WAAS, it shows me that the optimised bytes are more then the un-optimized bytes. Can anyone help for this plz.
I am also getting following errors in the logs...

Alok,
Typically when you see more optimized bytes than original bytes, and WAAS is applying Full optimization (TFO + DRE + LZ) that means the application is applying its own compression and/or encryption. You can not compress already compressed data, and recognize redundant bit patterns in encrypted data.
If you want to do full optimization on this Citrix traffic, I'd suggest you disable compression and encryption within the Citrix application.

Hi Micheal
Thanks alot for your quick reply,
I was also thinking the same. I already disabled my encription on citrix. But I have to reboot the server, which I cant do today. I will be doing that on week end. I will get back to you on Monday, with the results.
