How to force the CUCM to play MOH from the begining

Hi,

Is it possible to force the call manager to start a new stream (MOH .wav file played from the begining) for the music on hold each time a line is placed on hold for a dedicated music?

I have to configure a MOH for an in-house paging system.

The MOH .wav file is:

"Please stay on line, the employee has been paged (with music as background)" + 30 sec music.

The call is placed on a CTI-Port and the CTI-port is on hold during the time the caller is waiting.

For the first call, it is ok, the MOH start and the caller hears the announcement from the beginning.

If another call comes after a few second, the caller hears the MOH from where the first call is. For example, the caller hears "been paged + music"

Multicast isn't allowed and I tried to set and unset the option "Play continuously (repeat)" no change the music isn't played from the begining for the second call.

Any suggestions?

The callmanager has been recently upgraded from Version 4.1 to 6.1(3).

Hi,

If you are using Multicast MOH, change it to Unicast and give it a try.

Continuous Play Mode causes the MOH server to stream the data from the audio source file in a loop. This means that as soon as it has streamed the file from start to finish, it immediately begins streaming from the start again. This continues for as long as this audio source is being streamed.

The MOH server keeps track of how many MOH output streams are connected to each audio source, and when the count reaches zero, the audio source streaming is stopped. The fixed audio source is always played continuously and is not stopped. If Multicast support is selected for this audio source, the audio source is played continuously, because the MOH server does not know when held devices are listening at a Multicast Point.

One shot play mode is designed to support one connection at a time. It works as long as only one user is connected

to a given audio source. The connected user always hears the complete audio clip from the beginning exactly one time.

When the clip ends, the user hears silence until being retrieved from hold.

Teresa.
