vlan 1 showing 99% utilisation due to spanning tree

Has anyone experienced this situation with very high and sustained switch CPU consumption? (Cisco 2960)

It does not appear to be due to unstable STP (only possible unusual aspect is a Alteon load balancer running own STP also connected to the 2960) Thanks in advance

Hi,

Did you try 'show proc cpu sorted'. It will get you sorted output based on percentage of utilization. The top process will be on the top(use the command during high utilization period). As far as spanning tree, check if the switch got any redundant connections which are blocked properly.
