Hi all
when I use the console session to my router, and make sure the logging on command is on, with debugging to the console, are all possible debugging options on when using the console? or do i need to type each individual debug option ?

Hey Carl,
DEBUG ALL will usually overwhelm the device even when sitting idle - I know of this first hand :(
Use debug carefully. :) and be VERY SPECIFIC.
Also, remember when debugging on a layer-3 switch, (depending on model) packets are switched in cache interface-to-interface and thus will not be seen on the console.
Only process switches (CPU) packets are presented to the console for viewing.
BTW, Same applies to a Cisco router.
HTH and is clear.

hi there
so what are the messagers I see by default in the console?
are these just logging messages?
so for debugging I need to switch it on? is anything debugged by default ?
thanks
