Energywise on C2960

Unanswered Question

Has anyone started using energywise on Cat 2960s?

If so, does anyone have any recommended configurations for it, or any real-world experiences of it's use?

I have this problem too.

Hi Mark,

Unfortunately, major players such as Microsoft has yet to come to an agreement with Cisco on the so-called "magic packet" to put a PC to sleep. Cisco has initiated this move and partners are yet to make actions. Due to the political sensitivity with this issue (or lack of), I am suspecting that MS has deemed EnergyWise not critical.

If your Cisco IP Phones have the latest firmware, for instance, you can configure them to go low power or off outside business hours.

I am still waiting for Cisco's response to a question about "911" operation when the phone is on low power or off but as EnergyWise is still on version 1.0 there's still alot of room to grow and improve this technology.

Hope this helps.
