We have a user who is saying that her 7960 phone will at times drop the call volume to a level where she has to strain to hear the other caller. This is a new occurence and has not happened in the past. Not sure where to even start looking for this. Using Cisco Infrasturcture running Auto QOS on switches. Have also swapped the phone out and issue still occurs. Any one heard of this before?

Pls. try this options:
1. swap the cable bet the switch and phone. -maybe a bad cable
2. isolate the phone from the PC if it's plugged into the back of the phone - maybe some apps is causing the issue.
3. swap the phone to other user's phone that has no issue then see if it follows the phone -if the issue followed the phone, then it's a phone hardware issue. the one you swap is also problematic.
4. capture the packets, install a wireshark then set to SPAN the port -this will show whats happening to the packets.
Try each options one after another...
