WAN bandwidth requirements for small setups of about a 1000 phones

Hi there,

I searched the SRND for bandwidth requirements for clusters over the WAN. The only thing I found is a formula for clusters with a BHCA of over 10,000. Using the following formula:

Total Bandwidth (Mbps) = (Total BHCA/10,000) ∗ (1 + 0.006 ∗ Delay), where Delay = RTT delay in msec

My question is the 10,000 a fixed number to use this forumal ? or is there any other way to calculate the WAN requirements?

Thank you in advance.

Nick

The formulas are here

This is only for the signaling, the DB is fixed at a T1 speed + signaling.
