Current setup is 5 sites over MPLS using only static routes. I want to create 2 GRE tunnels because I need to pass multicast traffic from site to site over the carrier's MPLS network.
1.)Can I do this using static routes or do I need to convert from static routing to a routing protocol?
2.)Does anyone know of some sample configs or documentation on this?
Thank you.

Should be simple enough with your current setup.
As long as the GRE tunnel end points (i.e loopback interfaces) are already reachable via your static routes, the GRE will work.
Then you just configured multicasting on the GRE interfaces - and you are away.

Thank you for your reply.
I've searched but can't seem to find any sample configs for this type of setup. (Though it sounds basic.) I keep finding OSPF/EIGRP over GRE.
Any sample documentation out there?
Thank you

I think I found some documentation:

thanks again.

Again,
As I said getting multicast over a GRE is fairly simple, as long as your GRE tunnels are 100% OK.
