Hi,

I am trying install Collection Manager. The first step is to install the Sybase, but one error is happening.

''output omitted''

Configuring Sybase ASE ...

'CMSce' is an invalid TCP hostname.

[root@CMSce sybase]# Error - sybase ASE server configuration did not complete successfully - exiting.

Somebody can help me.

Claudio

What OS is this?

Was the hostname changed since the box was built?

Do a search for an "ase.rs" file. If there's one, what's its content?

Hi,

The OS is Red Hat 4 and is running at Virtual Machine.

Yes the hostname was changed during installation and no more.

I didn't find the "ase.rs" file.

thanks a lot !

Claudio

Hi,

I found a directory "ase"

/var/tmp/sybinstall2659/suite/com/sybase/ismp/ase

[root@CMSce ase]# ls

ExecCommand.class lang SybExpression.class

ExecCommand$InputSink.class OSInfo.class TypedKeyInfo.class

ExecCommand$OutputHandler.class OSUtil.class wizardbean

ExecCommand$OutputSink.class productbean

this sad anything ?

Claudio

How was the hostname changed (on the VM, I assume)? Which files were changed?

Good Morning Rezende,

I resolve this issue add in /etc/hosts the name the service plus my localdomain. Take a look below.

[root@agente1 etc]# cat hosts

#  Do not remove the following line, or various programs

#  that require network functionality will fail.

127.0.0.1               agente1.localdomain localhost

127.0.0.1               agente1.mtel.com.br

[root@agente1 etc]#

Another thing, before starting another instance Sybase, you need uninstall all Sybase first. Find for  /install-scripts/ and use script "./unistall.sh --sybase
