Hello all.

We have the GSR12404:

sh diags summary

SLOT 0 (RP/LC 0 ): Performance Route Processor

SLOT 1 (RP/LC 1 ): Modular SPA Interface Card (5G)

SUBSLOT 1/0 (SPA-5X1GE-V2): 5-port Gigabit Ethernet Shared Port Adapter

SUBSLOT 1/1 (SPA-5X1GE-V2): 5-port Gigabit Ethernet Shared Port Adapter

SLOT 17 (CSC 1 ): Clock Scheduler Card for 12404

SLOT 24 (PS A1 ): Alarm Board(404)

PEM 1 (POWER_A ): Intelligent AC PS [12000/4-AC-PEM=]

PEM 2 (POWER_B ): Intelligent AC PS [12000/4-AC-PEM=]

My question is - how many SPA-5X1GE-V2 cards I can put into SIP-501? If I put four cards how will share the total bandwidth 10G?

Hi,

Only 2:1 oversubscription ratio is supported so you can put up to 2x SPA-5X1GE-V2 into the SIP-501.

If the ingress traffic load is higher then 5Gbps, random drops will occur to keep the rate between the SPAs and the SIP below or equal to 5Gbps.

If you need 10G, you need to upgrade the SIP-501 to a SIP-601 and you will be able to put 4x SPA-5X1GE-V2 as the 2:1 ratio is still respected.

HTH

Laurent.
