AIR-1252 Antennas required?

Hello,

Just purchased 2 AIR-LAP-1252AG-A-KP APS. I notice it has external Antenna Connectors. I have loked in the Doc but can;t find the info I am looking for. I want to use them inside a gym and was wondering if they will work without external antennas.

Thanks

Mike

Hi Mike,

The 1252 does not have "built-in" Antenna/Antennas options, so external Antennas are required;

Supported Antennas are listed in this doc;

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/wireless/access_point/1250/installation/guide/125h_c1.html

Have a look at this good thread which includes some good insight on Antenna options, from Dennis, who is very knowledgable about 11n;

Hope this helps!

Hi Mike,

Antenna Product Portfolio for Cisco Aironet 1250 Series Access Points

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/wireless/ps7183/ps469/at_a_glance_c45-513837.pdf

Avoid running the AP's without any antennaes or you might permanently damage the transceiver.

Hope this helps.

SUper,

Thanks so much. Looking at the different radiation patterns really helps when figuring out which antenna I need.

Thank you.
