QoS on 2960G

Hi,

I'm trying to configure Policing on 2960G.

When I use the following value for 8Mbits/s, it's seems that the policing dosn't work fine (result 140 kbits/s):

police 8000000 8000 exceed-action drop

I read that for a switch the burst value has to be equal to rate/8. So:

police 8000000 1000000 exceed-action drop

With this configuration, the policing works fine (7,91Mbits/s).

Is this formula right?

If yes, how to configure a policing upper that 8Mbits/s (beceause the maximum configurable normal burst is 1000000):

<8000-1000000> Normal burst bytes

?

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

Thanks for your answer but the policing does'nt work.

I tried policy-map and aggregate-policer but the resultat is still the same. It works at 8M and at lower rate limit in TCP but doesn't work in UDP.

Is someone able to configure policing on 2960G?

Thanks
