Hi, WHat is the difference between RTR and SLA. I found both are similar, I want to know the differences.

It is my understanding that they really are the same. After introducing the feature Cisco changed the name in later releases as some additional functionalities were added. So the difference is versions of code where each is found.

I thought RTR was the "old" and "SLA" the new?

Above was based on my memory, but just found this reference: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/ipsla/command/reference/sla_book.html
If you look at some of the chapters, notes such as
"Note Effective with Cisco IOS Release 12.3(14)T and 12.2(31)SB2, the show rtr history command is replaced by the show ip sla monitor history command. Effective with Cisco IOS Release 12.2(33)SRB, the show rtr history command is replaced by the show ip sla history command. See the show ip sla monitor history and show ip sla history commands for more information. "
appear common (from: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/ipsla/command/reference/sla_04.html#wp1077354).
