Stopping "CWCS tftp service"

If i stop "CiscoWorks CommonService tftp service(CWCS tftp service)",I want to know , In what way it will affect the applications. How much it will affect the performance of the cisco works.

Hi.

The TFTP services corresponds to CiscoWorks own TFTP server. If you shut it down the only application that will have problems is RME. However, you can disable TFTP from the enabled protocols for Configuration Management and Software Management under RME > Admin > Config Mgmt > Transport Settings and RME > Admin > Software Mgmt > View/Edit Preferences respectively.

This will probably not improve performance much, though.

Can you please tell us what is "CiscoWorks TFTP Directory Traversal Vulnerability " ? Will it affect LMS 3.1.

Please tell the solution to overcome this vulnerability.

The TFTP vulnerability you mention is located in CiscoWorks' TFTP server component.

There is already a patch developed to address the issue which is tracked by bug CSCsx07107.

The patch is called cwcs3.x-win-CSCsx07107-0.zip and can be downloaded here:
