i am looking for an antenna that is stronger then 5dbi for the 1250 n, however i am unable to locate it on any data sheets. I am in need of an omnidirectional <8 Dbi gain antenna, does such a product exist? Thanks for your support.

The antennas for the 1250 are listed in this document

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/wireless/ps5678/ps6973/ps8382/product_data_sheet0900aecd806b7c6d.html

These ensure regulatory compliance and certification any other antennas should not be used.

is there a way to increase the dbi gain of these antennas? I mean 3.5-5 dbi will not do for an outdoor network at all.

How can they advertise the 1250n as an outdoor ap when the max dbi is 5???

If you want to ramp up the transmission output, I think you you need a booster.

Hope this works.

If you want to ramp up the transmission output, I think you you need a booster/amplifier.

Terrawave just came out with this antenna; a 6 DBI dual band MIMO Omni. One of their engineers reccomended it for use with the 1252 access point. I am going to deploy a few of these in a wharehouse type environment soon...

Terrwave/Tessco even makes nice enclosures for the Cisco access points.

thanks fellas, you've really helped me out alot,

I'm really looking into the tessco/terrawave option, but the cisco antennas definetly look like they can do the job as well.

I enjoy working with the sales/support staff at Tessco/Terrawave. They seem to have their act together...just my personal opinion.

Although I purchased the antennas/APs for indoor use in a wharehouse type environment, I do plan to do a little outdoor testing. The equipment should be showing up within a week or so.

I can let you know what I think of it.

thanks that would be awesome if you could get me an update!

if you can provide me the coverage distance as well that would be incredible, thanks again for all your help

Be careful not to violate FCC Part 15 rules. They are very explicit on what is and is not allowed.
