3750

-------

switchport access vlan 20

3845

You would normally only need to use subinterfaces on the 3845 if your "trunk" multiple VLANs from your 3750. Since it appears your 3750 port is an access port, you should be able to just use the 3845's main interface.

Hi,

Router(routing port) and Switch(switch port) take different approach.

Vlan just decide whether to transfer of the packet in a switch.

Therefor, As Mahmood illustrates you can just configure the ip on the interface of the same subnet.

By the way, when you configure the dot1q on the interface, router gives tag to packet and switch drops it.
