Hi all,
I have a switch c4510R and would like to use PBR(policy-base-routing), was searching on the cisco software advisor and did not find this functionality. So i can not use the PBR into c4510R?
Regards.

it depends on the supervisor card. Post a show version.

Hello Ricardo,
the answer is that this depends on the specific type of supervisor you have installed on it.
the newer SUPs 6E and probably 6 L E don't support it.
There have been other threads of collegues that have discovered this.
Other supervisor models support PBR.
see
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/switches/ps4324/prod_models_comparison.html
for example sup V 10Ge supports PBR
Hope to help

Hi Giuslar,
My supervisor is V-10GE, but not supported PBR, at least when I enter the following commands he shows me the option "ip policy"
C4510(config)# interface TenGigabitEthernet 1/1
C4510(config-if)# ip p?
% Unrecognized command
C4510(config-if)#
My IOS is 12.2(52)SG

Hello Ricardo,
is the interface configured for L3 or a switchport?
I think you need a valid L3 interface to be able to apply PBR (inbound)
Hope to help

Hi Giuseppe,
sorry, but i configured in the interface vlan, the following.
c4510(config)# interface vlan 2
c4510(config-if)# ip address 172.20.0.1 255.255.0.0
c4510(config-if)# ip p?
% Unrecognized command
c4510(config-if)#
Is this above interface a layer 3 interface?
regards

Hello Ricardo,
an SVI interface like vlan2 is a L3 interface indeed.
I wonder if it can be a question of feature set.
May you post

to see the exact image name

Hi,
the file IOS image is cat4500-ipbasek9-mz.122-52.SG.bin, but i search on the cisco advisor and not found any IOS with support PBR.
Regards.

That is strange. That release on a Sup V 10G should support PBR.
I was waiting for about 4 months on the new 12.2-52 release because when i bought a sup 6 i assumed it included PBR (and Netflow) but it didn't.

Hi,
Then i go the software advisor and field Engine CPU not available "Supervisor V-10GE". Then i choose CAT4500-SUP5-10GE and click "Next", when typing PBR its not found. have any suggestions or run the download of another IOS?
Regards
