877 & DMZ

I am configuring a 877 ADSL router. According to the spec pages it SHOULD support 2 VLANS - one for DMZ - with the base image. However whenever I try and add a VLAN I get a 'maximum number of VLANs reached' message and the VLAN isn't added. The unit has a fairly old software release (12.4(4)T) but I can't see anythingin the release notes for the newer images to suggest that there is a 'fix' in there...

From this page:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/routers/ps380/ps6200/product_data_sheet0900aecd8028a976.html

It says

"VLAN Support for 2 VLANs with Base Image. One VLAN dedicated to DMZ."

I agree the documentation is misleading. I believe anytime we wanted to do more than two VLANs (outside/inside) we had to look at Advanced IP Services. I would download/install it to test and see if it works. If it does, work with your rep to back bill the client.

Hope this helps, rate if it does!
