What should be considered when deciding how many routers can be allowed in an OSPF area? Is there a Cisco article which explains these issues?

Hello George

OSPF design guide has a small section briefing the points to be considered when designing the number of routers in an OSPF area:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk365/technologies_white_paper09186a0080094e9e.shtml#t40

Refer to this guide.. with regards to the max no of routers, it really depends. there are lots of sources saying different values, but it really matters on the points given in the OSPF design guide. how many routers are you planning to put?

HTH.. all the best. rate replies if found useful..
