HSRP Design Question

Hi,

To save on costs I am planning to cease a 100Mb LES100 circuit which we only use to monitor the HSRP state of two switches in different geographic locations. Looking at my design does anyone see any issues with using the links to the core switches and the LES1000 etherchannel for the HSRP traffic?

Hi.

As long as you have Layer-2 adjacency across the two swithes running HSRP then you will be fine. In your example you will need VLAN21 all the way from the left switch with IP 10.176.32.5 through trunk to left Core2, across etherchannel, through right Core1 and across trunk to switch with IP 10.176.32.6.
