hi! i enabled syslog lgging and debug on in my 6509 sw and sup and point it
to an external syslog server. Will the log file in the sw grow or the log
will actually be redirected to my syslog svr which has big storage?
if the log file does grow in the sw....sup? how do i clear it? Thanks.

Hello David,
the log buffer on device is a circular buffer newer messages overwrite old ones.
default size is 4096 bytes
you can check size at the beginning of sh log
you can increase size using:
logging buffer
you can expect to see an always increasing file on the syslog server and this is also the reason why we use it
Hope to help
Giuseppe
