Unity Domain Migration

Hi,

We are running Cisco Unity 5.0 as unified messaging system with CUCM 6.0, Unity is integrated with AD and Exchange while CUCM also uses AD. I have been asked to look into the requirements for migrating these systems from the existing domain to a new domain, though I have worked on CUCM and understand most of the requirements however I am not familiar with UNITY and IPCC.

I am reading SRNDs for both of these however I would appreciate some inputs regarding the exact requirements and things that I need to take into consideration specifically around the schema extension for Unity.

I would also appreciate any recommendation/resources for reading and viewing on unity.

Regards

Abdul,

If you're moving Unity into a new domain, it involves a full re-install. Here's the guide that explains this:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity/5x/upgrade/guide/ex/5xcuruge080.html

As far as the schema extensions, it's required that the AD schema be extended in the new domain if it hasn't been already:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/customer/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity/5x/installation/guide/umexnofo/5xcuigumenofo060.html#wp1939477

Hope that helps,

Brad

Hi,

If I install the unity on a new platform will I be able to connect this to the CUCM while still having the existing one connected? Most of the users have been migrated to the new domain and the new unity will be on the new domain, however the CUCM will be talking to both existing and new domain, how can I get away with the duplicate accounts on the CUCM fro the old and the new domain.
