Hi,

we have four sites, using MPLS network. We use CM 6.1. The network is look like!

site-A--- |----------Site-C

| |

|---------| MPLS Network|-----------|

| |----------Site-D

Site-B-----|

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At present we have voice-gateway configured between Site-A & Site-B and CM 6.1 is on Site-A. we configured cisco and polycom IP video phones all working fine. Now we want to Site-C & Site-D to join us and all 4 sites can see each other, but we don't have voice-gateways configured on Site-C and Site-D and we do have some polycom IP video phones available. Can we have a video conference with Site-C & Site-D without a voice-gateway ?

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

You sure can have video calls without a voice gateway. However, if you want a multi-participant (3+) video call you will need a video conference bridge such as IP/VC MCU 35XX.

As long as you have IP connectivity, bandwidth and proper video end-points, you should be able to make video calls.

A voice gateway is a very generic term. Usually its a Cisco router, which does the usual routing along with additional features in IOS that enable you to terminate Voice PRI on it or use the gateway as an IPIP gateway.

So if you are making an end to end IP voice call, than you should be able to make an end to end IP video call as well.

Thanks,
