Analog only during MGCP Failover

We have a few analog ports on an MGCP router that were set up specifically to be used only during failover. The problem is that the lines have been discovered by telemarketers and we're getting a bunch of sales calls on these lines. We were wondering if it's possible to set the lines up so that they'll only be active during MGCP failover. Ideas?

Very easy - remove the CSS set up for these ports in CUCM. Set the CSS to either None, or some bogus CSS that doesn't have any partitions left.

If you have any numbers in the Partition they would still be able to call them.

Technically you could do something like prefix '999999999999' to their numbers on the gateway page to make sure they never go anywhere. Or you could just not configure them in CUCM.

Well consider that part of the deal is that these lines exist specifically for 911 calls during a CUCM outage. That means that 911 operators would have to be able to call back during those instances. How would that affect your suggestion?

If you do not configure the ports for MGCP on the gateway, but not in CUCM this is the operation:

1) A call comes in, it is passed to mgcpapp

2) It is sent to CUCM

3) CUCM rejects call because the endpoint isn't configured

1) A call comes in, is passed to mgcpapp. MGCP is down, so it uses fallback method, H323/SIP.

2) Call progresses normally.
