Hi,

Multicast allows you to send one stream than can be received by many Host or receivers. It's far more efficient than sending x times the same flow in unicast to each receiver.

The following links will help you to start with multicast:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6552/prod_presentation_list.html

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/ios/solutions_docs/ip_multicast/White_papers/mcst_ovr.html

If you have a single LAN where your source and receivers are connected, you have nothing to do as L2 switches handle multicast packets as broadcast packets.

Hi Laurent

What do you have to configure if you have a few VLAN's connected to and routed by a 3750 core switch ?

Do i need to have the IP Services image ?
