IPV6 on switches

Hi,

My Name is Jeff and currently working for a possible implementation of an IPV6 project for a client of ours.

We are in the initial stage of doing inventory on the corporate network and we have bumped into a situation where we encountered some problems. Like L2 switches like 2950, that doesn't show it supports an IPV6 feature (based on the cisco feature navigator). For these switches alike, we would just like to have an IPV6 management address for us to access the switch.

Does the 2950 switch support the IPV6 features? If yes, what specific train and feature set needed to support these.

We are currently dividing the equipments if they need to be replaced or just an IOS upgrade. current IOS for 2950 is c2950-i6q412-mz.121-22.EA8

Thanks!

Hi Jeffrey,

There is no ipv6 support on the 2950 and there will not be as it is EoL.

Other more recent low end switches have basic IPv6 support though.
