T38 Fax Relay

Looking for opinions on best practices for implementing T38 fax relay. My reading indicates H323 is cleaner over MGCP. Call Managers are currently 4.2.3 with MGCP GW, but will be moving to UCM7.1.2, with H323 GW's

3rd Party Fax Sw is BISCOM. thanks

If you understand H323 and dial peers I would use that. If you don't I would use MGCP, as everything can be handled centrally in CUCM.

If you want an in depth coverage of fax on Cisco I would suggest purchasing Fax, Modem, and Text for IP Telephony By David Hanes, Gonzalo Salgueiro.

There is a sample chapter at the link covering fax, modem and text design which includes numerous best practice recommendations.
