Netbackup on Unity with Exchange on-box

New customer, has no backup solution in place other than DIRT and wants ALL messages backed up and available for recovery. Unity 4.2.1 with Exchange 2000, 1200 users on one box. They have netbackup available to use for exchange, does anyone have any configuration documents specific to onbox unity and netbackup or any suggestions as to best way to approach? Thanks very much for feedback.

Hi -

This doc is a bit dated, but should cover some of the considerations for Veritas Netbackup - http://www.cisco.com/comm/applications/IPCApps/Docs/CSCO_VRTS_whitepaper_020604.pdf

There is also good information here - http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity/405/maintenance/guide/ex/mg_0450.html#wp1187734

I only have experience with Veritas Backup Exec with just Unity data - not Exchange onbox. We did purchase the Backup software Agent for SQL Server/MSDE.
